O contrato com a instituição de pesquisa parceira, tanto no caso do CNPq como do IPT, permite aos participantes atuarem no projeto por, pelo menos, 12 meses, podendo ser estendido por mais um ano.Em mais de uma década, cerca de 3 mil profissionais receberam bolsas e movimentaram mais de R$ 148 milhões em projetos. Só no primeiro semestre deste ano, o programa teve 262 novos pesquisadores. Um grupo de cientistas ligados à cronobiologia – ciência que estuda os ritmos e os fenômenos biológicos – assinou um manifesto alegando que a mudança de horário pode trazer prejuízos graves à saúde, que superam, inclusive, os benefícios econômicos.O manifesto explica que os ritmos biológicos humanos são relacionados ao ciclo natural de luz e escuridão. Esse ciclo regula automaticamente funções essenciais, como sono, apetite e até mesmo o humor. O Horário de Verão, segundo os estudiosos, confunde essa sincronização e força o organismo a se reajustar a um novo ‘horário social’.A servidora pública de Brasília, Juliana Passos, concorda com os cientistas. Ela não gosta de mudança e conta que tem muita dificuldade em se adaptar.<blockquote>“Eu sinto que ele traz impactos bem relevantes para a questão da saúde, principalmente a questão do sono. Quando a gente acorda bem cedo ainda está escuro, para dormir é mais complicado, porque ficamos mais expostos à luz e ao calor e demoramos para relaxar ao final do dia”</blockquote>A moradora do Distrito Federal ainda diz que se sente mais irritada nessa época do ano.Consequências para a saúdeMesmo que a diferença seja apenas de uma hora, a adaptação pode ser lenta e ser mais difícil para algumas pessoas. Segundo especialistas, a mudança pode causar os seguintes problemas:<ul><li>Distúrbios do sono;</li><li>Aumento de eventos cardiovasculares adversos;</li><li>Transtornos mentais e cognitivos;</li><li>Crescimento no número de acidentes de trânsito nos primeiros dias após a mudança.</li></ul>PesquisaEntre os argumentos usados pelos cientistas no manifesto está um estudo de 2017 da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), que abordou a forma como lidamos com a transição de horário.A pesquisa foi baseada em questionários online e analisou as respostas de mais de 1,2 mil participantes sobre horários habituais de dormir e acordar, perguntando também sobre a chegada do Horário de Verão.
