Cosmic Librarian<p>A deadly disease that affects cats big and small found in U.S.</p><p>The virus inflamed a cougar's brain and tissue in Colorado, though it’s unclear how long the disease has been on the continent or how prevalent it is.</p><p>Known as Staggering Disease, the disease gets its name from the stumbling gait exhibited by the animals sickened with it, including cougars. Felines lose their ability to use their back legs, and they can also experience a variety of other symptoms, from an inability to retract claws to increased affectionate behavior observed in domestic cats.</p><p><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/cats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cats</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/disease" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>disease</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/staggeringdisease" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>staggeringdisease</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/cougars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cougars</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/UnitedStates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UnitedStates</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/NorthernEurope" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NorthernEurope</span></a></p><p><a href="https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/staggering-disease-cat-cougar-colorado" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">nationalgeographic.com/animals</span><span class="invisible">/article/staggering-disease-cat-cougar-colorado</span></a></p>
