Some best options for indie authors:
1. Without the personality to market your book and widely communicate it, don’t write it. If you write it anyway, this means no contests.
2. If you write it, do it by hand and bury it deep underground once it is finished. Make sure you’re not followed or tracked.
3. Publish it, but quickly make it available for free before it is stolen and distributed everywhere for someone else to profit.
4. Quietly print your book and only give to select people you absolutely trust to burn it once it is read.
5. Remember: you are not JKR, so you likely don’t have the easy means to check with your lawyers beforehand about how best to challenge the system.
6. Don’t disparage on Amazon Publishing too much since they are likely to be the only ones to stock your book.
7. Try Major Publishers: Good luck. See the above.
8. Any free time you have for writing, find something more productive to do instead.
9. When you are young, and the urge to write begins to take hold of you, punish yourself until the mere thought of writing associates the urge to vomit.
