A device which records everything, you and your surroundings without informing the opposite side it is recorded and sends it to the cloud for transcription. And they are not transparent what commercial models they use.

I just recently picked up MiniDisc as a hobby and let me tell you: it should have replaced CDs and become the dominant format in portable discs both Compact Disc and CD-RW.

It has a better codec for audio, has a high rewriting capability, and is a smaller form factor if you look at players and recorders post 1997.

I wish I would have picked one up in my high school days, a classmate had one and it was pretty cool, but I didn't pursue it.

Now I listen to #TWiT, Security Now!, @atpfm ATP, and a couple others on Minidisc. It provides that disconnect I need to focus (said as I'm working and pausing to post this) and I like the feeling of a physical disc and selecting a part of my music to bring with me. It also makes making a mix tape a little easier in that I can rewrite the disc later at will without needing to toss the entire thing after several rewrites.

Truly, Sony made the mistake it made with BetaMax: it should have given the format away initially to reputable companies around the world and I think we would still be seeing new players and recorders.

That said, I'm needing stockpile on discs since my collection is small, and I don't want to rewrite some albums/mixes since I know I will want them available quickly.

Our Alberta premiere apparently prefers not to be called by their birth name, Marlaina Smith. Kind of weird given their public rhetoric, passing laws about such things, and attacks on people who do the same. So whatever you do, don't call them Marlaina Smith. Got it, don't use Marlaina Smith because they find it offensive. And be sure to use their preferred pronouns, which are probably not them/they/their, etc.
