Sheridan<p>Have you ever encountered VLC unable to play a .mkv file when your machine is plugged into hdmi? I have this .mkv file that will play fine on my MacBook screen, but if I plug an hdmi cable into my MacBook to output to a projector, VLC just shows a black screen, even after restarting VLC. </p><p>Thankfully I was able to get what I wanted playing over the projector from a different source and in a different format but I'm still really confused. <a href="https://mas.to/tags/VLC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VLC</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/mkv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mkv</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/hdmi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hdmi</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/VideoFormats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VideoFormats</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/codecs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>codecs</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/mac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mac</span></a></p>
