Skullvalanche<p>I listened to Jon Stewart interview Michael Lewis about his new book the other day.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79_n1FKZwHo" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=79_n1FKZwH</span><span class="invisible">o</span></a></p><p>In the book, it extolls the amazing government workers who are currently demonized by the right wing media. It's yet another reason to be angry about DOGE and the cuts.</p><p>Then I saw this story about how they made these trading cards in Japan.</p><p><a href="https://www.tokyoweekender.com/entertainment/middle-aged-man-trading-cards-go-viral-in-japan/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">tokyoweekender.com/entertainme</span><span class="invisible">nt/middle-aged-man-trading-cards-go-viral-in-japan/</span></a></p><p>... and it occurred to me that someone should make a trading card game for all the government workers in the US. The "faceless bureaucrats" who do the thankless hard work and never get any real recognition. It might help humanize government workers to a public which apparently has no idea what government does.</p><p>I, for one, would love a Arthur A. Allen trading card.</p><p><a href="https://servicetoamericamedals.org/honorees/arthur-a-allen/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">servicetoamericamedals.org/hon</span><span class="invisible">orees/arthur-a-allen/</span></a></p><p>I'm a bit fuzzy on what a good game mechanic would be in order to highlight things like engineering acumen or systems design. Guess I'll leave that to a game designer.</p><p><a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/JonStewart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JonStewart</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/WeeklyShowPodcast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyShowPodcast</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/Government" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Government</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/MichaelLewis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MichaelLewis</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/Games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Games</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/TradingCards" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TradingCards</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/ShowerThoughts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ShowerThoughts</span></a></p>
