Me this morning: "Wow, I'm impressed how I haven't seen any stupid April's Fools joke on the Fediverse. Are people finally over this stupid and pointless "tradition."
Me this afternoon, after a few minutes on Reddit: "Wow, I'm impressed that people on the Fediverse are finally over this stupid and pointless tradition. The rest of the web? Not so much."
After all the nonsensical drama in recent months, I'm glad Fediverse people are still doing a few things right.
This year’s April fools from my current employer (a higher education institution) was an announcement they will start using “facial recognition AI” on students to enforce attendance.
Once I am back from vacations, I’ll be figuring out who had that great idea and who green-lit it and there will be a conversation about tone deafness, what is funny, and what is abusive.
How can you impress yourself by fooling yourself today?
