Schall und Stille<p>Hey I'm back from <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recording</span></a> at the sandstone tower and I'm happy to report that I have 3 new demos for the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> :) </p><p>Along with my visit to the tower went the stipulation that I wouldn't read the news or visit social media while I am there.</p><p>I'm not saying the solution to everything is to withdraw completely, but I have to admit: It was *really* nice not to be reminded every day all the sh*t going wrong in this world (which btw rendered the demos a bit more introspective…)</p>
Schall und Stille<p>So I'll be off for a while. </p><p>I'm spending the next 10 days with Mrs K. and Buba K. in an old sandstone tower in the Palatinate Forest, writing and recording music for the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> and hopefully not reading any news.</p><p>See you later!</p>
Schall und Stille<p><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> tracks so far, and how close I am to finishing them…</p><p>1. kings (100%)<br>2. trendula (90%)<br>3. the motor song (90%)<br>4. dany (70%)<br>5. saba (50%)<br>6. the secret life of poison (20%)<br>7. jkr (50%)<br>8. god (70%)<br>9. the artist in the vineyard (90%)</p><p><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/musicproduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musicproduction</span></a></p>
Schall und Stille<p>Both "The Drunken Fisherman" and "Biike" had their majority of tracks created in this mode, which probably explains why I was perfectly fine with what I got.</p><p>For the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> I try to work in mode 2 as much as I can (which is not to say that the stuff I do in mode 1 is worth less, or that it's the "wrong" way of making music. It's just not very healthy for me. I'm very proud of it, and as long as there is feedback, like it was on <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/fedivision" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedivision</span></a>, it wasn't a problem for me to do it).</p><p>(3/3)</p>
Schall und Stille<p>In the studio working on a new song for the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a>. </p><p>"Dany" is about <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a>, loneliness and stupid f*ckers who sell us the first as a solution to the second. </p><p>And it's as close to Electroclash as I'll ever get. Distorted RD-6 on speed, amplified Trident and glitching <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/waldorf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>waldorf</span></a> M. </p><p>really starting to get excited about<br><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/strategiesagainstalgorithms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>strategiesagainstalgorithms</span></a></p>
TheJaySunday<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://sonomu.club/@stephan" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>stephan</span></a></span> what's the <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> concept?</p>
Schall und Stille<p>One of the things I intend to do for the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a> is to <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/sing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sing</span></a> all the songs myself this time. </p><p>Since my thyroid operation, my voice isn't what it used to be, but with the help of a speech therapist friend (who, incidentally, is one of the very few friends of mine who is also interested in my <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a>), I've made great progress in recent years – up to a point where I can enjoy hearing myself again. </p><p>I'm curious to see how it will work on an entire album.</p><p><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/musician" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musician</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/musicproduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musicproduction</span></a></p>
Schall und Stille<p>Recorded a new demo for the <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/offlinealbum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinealbum</span></a>, "The Motor Song". </p><p>Very excited about this; mainly analog synths and a TG77 providing the drums (which I have never used before because I thought they sounded terrible. But with a little tuning they're actually quite Doktor-Avalanchesque).</p><p>the motor is running<br>the wheels never stop<br>we'll push it some harder<br>we'll ride through the flood<br>the rivers are raging<br>the soil has turned black<br>but we just need more fuel<br>and then we'll get back</p><p>(1/2)</p>
