The photo shows a "cloud" of wood \ coal smoke enveloping a village in the county of #Cumbria, England. The smoke is coming out of local people's chimneys (also, local landowners burn piles of tree branches, more so after storms)

Without going into detail, the locals (babies, children & adults) may as well be smoking a packet of cigarettes everyday (#coal \ #wood is far more toxic than #tobacco #smoke)

It's the adults own fault! They defend & make excuses for their #AirPolluting lifestyles

Almost heated our way through the very old firewood that was stored here. So I'm doing some cleanup of the area.

The supports are logs standing on dirt and their bottoms have rotted. They need jacking up and fixing, with some nice old concrete chunks underneath.

Then I can restack the wet logs on the left and start storing new firewood there.

The grapes growing on the roof are super tasty by the way and shall remain there.

I was rubbing candle wax on a log so it would burn a bit better. In the course of that, some bits of the bark broke off and fell into my bowl.

Then, after the fire was lit, I ate the food in that bowl.

I can now report that wood tastes like it smells. I spat out the wood because who knows what kind of chemicals get sprayed on commercial firewood.
