Good news for everyone here who uses Flipboard on Android: you can now connect your Mastodon account and flip through feeds.

Besides seeing posts from Mastodon feeds, you can also boost, like and reply to them from within the Flipboard app. You can also add content from Mastodon to your Flipboard Magazines, and vice versa: share content from Flipboard with your followers on Mastodon.

FlipboardDiscover Mastodon on Android: Flipboard Integration Is Here! - FlipboardFlipboard on Android lets you connect your Mastodon account and flip through content from the federated social network.
@Flipboard What about other Fediverse services using ActivityPub?

@yodan Looking into it. The sign-in mechanism for @Pixelfed is different enough from Mastodon that it required us to punt it. We also realized that it'd be better to integrate at the level than at the API level in the long run.

@Flipboard @yodan I hope other ActivityPub platforms will be supported soon! Tried out with my self-hosted #Pleroma instance and it didn't work.

@gombang @Flipboard @yodan I see supports the Mastodon API, so this should in general just work. Can you check your logs to see why creating a client did not work? Would love to work with you to figure out what we need to change on our side to get this to work.

Our ActivityPub integration (eventually) is a different beast but something we are working on in a broader sense.

@gombang We received a generic error back from 'mathstodon.xyz'. I just tried now and it seems to work. Try again?

@greg yeah it works now. I'll try again with my pleroma account later.

@greg update: it works now with Pleroma. At least it opens the login page. But it seems CloudFlare settings somehow interfere with the login process. I haven’t seen anything in the logs to explain this, perhaps I have just looked at the wrong place.

Meanwhile I’ve just turned off CloudFlare for now.
