I can already see that if you are on the Fediverse with different account names for each instance how annoying this is when you circulate content from one of your instances to another. Is there a way to streamline all instances into one post?

@janettespeyer unfortunately not...😬

Some people that post from multiple accounts will boost the posts from the other account so they're on the same timeline.

@BeAware @janettespeyer

once all servers fully federate, why would people have separate accounts except to either intentionally post different types of content for different audiences or make sure they are speaking personally vs as an employee? this all seems positive imo. I want politicians to post some stuff as a candidate and some as an elected official, for instance.

@wjmaggos @janettespeyer that might be the case here, as she was originally on Flipboard proper, but this is her Flipboard.social mastodon account.🤷‍♂️

JanetteSpeyer

@BeAware @wjmaggos you talking about me? I am on flipboard, flipboard.social, mastodon.social, and Threads

@janettespeyer @wjmaggos ahh...I was probably mistaken.😅

I was under the impression that your original interactions with Fediverse came through Flipboard.com whenever they started federating.

My mistake!

@BeAware @wjmaggos not at all! Good assumption. I did start first with mastodon.social

@janettespeyer @wjmaggos oh okay.

That's where most people start but with all these new platforms starting to integrate, I have a feeling that might change soon enough!

A ton are now getting their first Fediverse taste through Threads and BlueSky which is pretty freakin cool!

I do wish they'd advertise it a bit more and make it more noticeable, but that's probably a far stretch for Meta.😅
