Today was a great day for the fediverse and everyone in it!
@mike Just logged on. What did I miss??
@jillholl Milestone @waveformpodcast episode from @davidimel in which he explains the fediverse, how it happened and why it matters.
Meanwhile @pcottle and team shipped ability for all @threads users to see replies from the fediverse.
@mike@flipboard.social @jillholl @waveformpodcast @davidimel @pcottle @threads That's huge news and as some one who I thought was following fedi news pretty closely, I had no idea.
One of the big gotchas of the fediverse is that you're living very much in the moment whenever you log in.
@mike Unless you’re a Threads user in the European Region.
But the new Bluesky updates are most impressive.
@toddalstrom Yes Bluesky is very impressive.
Also I really need to educate myself on why Threads would be moving slower in the EU to federate. Very counter intuitive.
@mike Meta doesn't like to moderate.
@mike please, help to get the federation option also here in Europe!
thanks
The fact that @meta (or others) prevents a large part of users from using the federation option at Fediverse is not justifiable (unless with legal impositions) and is detrimental to the right to free discussion and participation in social life. If this is their opinion we take note of it, but know that we do not consider it correct.
