When I went to SXSW in 2023, few had heard of the fediverse. This year is very different thanks to the work of legions of builders and evangelizers over the past two years.
On Sunday and Monday we're hosting the first fediverse house at #SXSW with some great people like @molly0xfff @pluralistic @mmasnick.bsky.social @evan @davidimel.com @pcottle @jasonkoebler and many more.

Threads is just Meta's fingers in the pie Mastodon will always be the true Fediverse.

Not to be that guy, I get this is a meme, but there's a whole host of great speakers at the Fediverse House and only one woman is featured here?
It'd be great for those attending to talk about what we can do to highlight women and their contributions to the open social web more.

@SeattleSanchez fair point. The full lineup is more diverse. Also fyi we asked a diverse range of other folks to participate but they weren’t available.

@User47 I don't like giving platform operators a veto over whether people can connect. Let's encourage every platform to implement ActivityPub, and individuals and communities can decide who to block and how.
