@mattg @pluralistic I expect "tax cuts" will come in the form of elimination of federal taxes on social security income, and possibly elimination ofsocial security withholdings from working adults. And voila, within just a few years social security becomes insolvent and Republicans claim we're now a Meritocracy echoing the current chant of Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It'll be every American for him/her self.

Intentionally bankrupting social security seems to be the goal. Boomers will get theirs, but the rest of us will lose everything we've ever paid into it.

Remember some boomers are just turning 60 this year And some of us held off until 70. So we might have wasted our time doing that and my brother who just turned 60 cannot collect until he is 67.
We might not get much out of it . True, some is better than none but they did not need to do that.
