Last week, Christopher Baxter, the editor of @SpotlightPA, a nonprofit local newsroom in Pennsylvania, made a post on LinkedIn that started: “I recently had lunch with a staunch, pro-Trump Republican and highly successful business leader, and his views on local news changed my own.” In the post, Baxter went on to explain that nonprofit newsrooms' focus on pro-democracy language might not be serving them well.
