MastodonWilliam Gunn (@williamgunn@mastodon.social)Lots of people say nice things and have good intentions, but if they've let someone else get root access to their OS and install a different epistemological rootkit, it kinda doesn't matter what they say their intentions are. Gotta sever the connection with the C&C server and restore from whatever was backed up in their 5 closest friends. You might say this is not respecting their agency, but neither was the operator of whatever botnet they ended up a part of.
