There are people in the USA who won't and currently aren't standing for Trump’s fascist takeover, but there are also many people who support him, as well as many people who are apolitical. America is an extremely right-wing nation compared to others like it. If anywhere people will support a fascist takeover, it'll be America. I'd say I hope this doesn't happen, but hope is irrelevant compared to reality.

I just read Jason Stanley's book on *Erasing History*. tonight. I loved his term of a Anti-Colonist Nationalism as I had been struggling to put a name to that feeling that some Nationalism is bad (Supremacist) but Nationalism could be done right. eg. A caring society with empathy etc. This is a beautifully written book. He wrote about ideas I have had as well about the Enlightenment and that was helpful. Yes, the Enlightenment wasn't all roses.
A very approachable book, and I highly recommend reading it.
Sorry I am tired a bit rambling but I am off to bed!

It's time to get out of the USA.
I don't believe the elections of 2026 will be anything close to free and fair. And even if the fascist party loses both houses of Congress, the dear leader will simply ignore them.
The economy is in a very negative trajectory. Once that hits white people broadly, the fascists will get more draconian to retain power. They have no alternative, as they know losing the presidency means jail time for many of them.
This is my opinion.
