It’s a good year for blossom - let’s hope we don’t get frost.
This is the ‘Pershore Yellow Egg’ plum. It produces huge yellow plums that are terrible raw but cooked produce fruit with a great flavour and clear, golden juice. Pershore isn’t far from me so almost a local variety.

The colours are fab, the exuberance is so vital: it's a joy to be a #gardener in the spring. And to have a greenhouse (sorry to those who don't) helps a lot.
From last weekend: every week sees the garden filling out, the colours brightening (and the weeds leading the way of course).

Repotted my agave, mini aloe, a bunch of tiny succulents, and a spider plant today! Some were getting rooted, some Ive been working to save, some simply outgrew their containers.
Hoping the whole gang likes their new homes in the sun tomorrow!

Victory gardens were a tactic used for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and Germany during WWII to supplement food rations during wartime. They were hugely successful and supplied up to 40% of the US' supply of fresh vegetables. I've been thinking about them a lot lately considering the tariffs, isolationism, fascism, and more.

It's unfortunately seeming an awful lot like this kind of self sustenance practice is going to be important again over the next few years because of Dictator Dipshit. I want to reclaim the term and deem them Resistance Gardens, because yes -- I can and will find joy and community in opposing your ass. Even for simple, yet crucially important things like how I put food on the table.

Cool spring here, so outside plants aren’t growing much yet. Lots of growth indoors: onions, leek, cabbage, kale, broccoli, tomatillo, ground cherry, pepper, eggplant, basil, thyme
