"Locomotive Breath" is a song by British #progressiveRock band #JethroTull from their 1971 album, #Aqualung. Written as a comment on population growth, "Locomotive Breath" was meant to replicate the chugging rhythm of a train. In addition to its release on Aqualung, "Locomotive Breath" saw two different single releases and has been a live favourite. It is one of Jethro Tull's best-known songs.

"Living in the Past" is a song by British #progressiveRock group #JethroTull. It is one of the band's best-known songs, and it is notable for being written in the unusual 54 time signature. The use of quintuple meter is quickly noted from the beginning rhythmic #bass pattern, though it can also be explained as a distinct 68 + 24 #syncopated rhythm.

My grandson (age 10) and I are listening to Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick on the phonograph, which he choose. I told him about the police teargassing the crowd at the Red Rocks Amphitheater concert in the foot hills outside Denver in 1971. I don't think he understands what I'm talking about. But he's grooving to the music. It makes me want to cry.
