By Adam Shirley

About 100 undergraduate and Masters teaching students in the ACT are in classrooms without supervision, in a program designed to help with the chronic teacher shortage. But does putting them in the classrooms earlier lead to burn out faster?

$5b boost for New South Wales public schools in new funding deal

Tiffany Justice, of #MomsForLiberty, touted the launch of the portal, highlighting it as an opportunity for parents to push back against "critical [race] theory, *rogue* sex education, & *divisive* ideologies." She added: "Now is the time that you share the receipts of the betrayal that has happened in our public schools."

"Across eight decades, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed and reaffirmed the unconstitutionality of religious indoctrination in public schools. In McCollum v. Board of Education (1948), it ruled that religious instruction in public education buildings during the school day violated the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause. In Engel v. Vitale (1962), the court concluded that public prayer in schools did the same. Later rulings — in Lee v. Weisman (1992) and Santa Fe Independent School District v. Doe (2000) — extended the ban on public prayer beyond the school day to graduations and athletics, respectively... Following Trump’s first-term conservative makeover of the Supreme Court, however, the nation’s highest court has signaled an interest in revisiting these issues. This has emboldened MAGA leaders in various states to start breaching the wall of separation between church and state, particularly at the K-12 level."

We need to do more to help #schools adopt #FreeSoftware / #OpenSource. In my experience, it is easier to get smaller communities schools to switch, especially if the #FOSS / #Linux communities can volunteer a few hours a month for setup and training teachers.

Is Lifewise Academy coming to a school near you?
Their mission is to undermine public schools by taking kids out of their regular classes for religious instruction during the school day, both on-site and off-campus.
And to override children's relationship with their parents.
From the Lifewise staff handbook:
"When faced with a choice to obey God or our parents, we should always obey God first."
80% of the classes Lifewise has are K-5th grade. These are 6-11 year-old children that Lifewise is targeting.
