Modified from a design on bracelet book.com. (Those patterns are charted on a square grid, so end up stretched when transferred directly to a loom.) Final pic is the complete piece. Love how it turned out! Meant to try a border of strung beads but forgot, whoops. Next time.
Used nymo thread, which seems like it’s harder for me to keep even tension with? Will try Fire Line next time to compare.

Seed beads strung up on warp threads still taught on the loom. Only a small border design and one iteration of a three colored spiral has been completed. A hand is under the band for scale, the band is about two fingers wide.
The same beadwork but now the pattern is almost complete. The three colored spiral was repeated three times and the border on the end has been started.
The same pattern, complete and cut off the loom! The edges are a little uneven now that the warp isn’t under tension. On either end is an off color row of beads that will eventually be covered by a metal end bar.

Been messing with loom beading, these are my first three projects! Lessons were learned lol. Pictured: Three bracelet-sized bands of beading. The farthest from camera is out of focus, with a vaguely festive green and red patters and a wave to it, like wrinkled fabric. The middle band is less wrinkly, with a cross stitch like pattern- a red heart in the middle flanked by simple flowers of different colors. The closest band is not at all wrinkly, and is blue with a heavily stylized bird. The bird is outlined in black with a yellow to orange, sunset like gradient in the wings and tail. I was told by my beading teacher that it is a historic Native American pattern of a diving loon.
My first historic tablet weaving in progress, the simplest Oseberg pattern. One day I’ll get brave and do the complicated ones! Pictured: Close up of a narrow band weaving in progress hooked around a wooden loom peg. The pattern is simple and slightly asymmetrical, with repeating white parallelograms inside a plum colored stripe that’s just off center.
My first nepenthes, x Briggsiana, who is doing wonderfully and has been joined by a small gaggle of other neps that tolerate household humidity. I was lucky this was my gateway plant; it survived my beginner mistakes and I adore the dark color and wide peristome! Pictured: Three cheerful, fresh, dark red pitchers with slightly flared mouths hanging next to each other.
Brotchen, a long-haired tabby cat, intercepted the towels I was supposed to be folding. Pictured looking soulfully into the camera with her chin on some bunched towels. She knows how to pose!
