"The Master and Margarita" was filmed before Russia's full-scale invasion of #Ukraine , but once released after the invasion, it took on a new meaning. It has now become one of the highest grossing films ever in Russia.

The satire of the oppressive Soviet life was excellent in the Russian classic The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. But I did not find the Biblical and Margarita fantasy parts of the book to be interesting.

#Bulgakov was deputy defence minister from 2008 to September 2022. In 2016, he was awarded the Hero of #Russia title.
