From Mark Carney's Value(s)
"After all, climate change is an issue the i) involves the entire world, from which no one will be able to self-isolate, ii) is predicted by science to be the central risk tomorrow, and iii) we can address only if we act in advance and in solidarity."

"Climate change is the ultimate betrayal of intergenerational equity."

I'm good with those statements on climate.

The natural climate pattern La Niña started to make her presence felt last fall. Now, she's on her way out. According to a new National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration report, things have shifted into a "neutral" phase, which is forecast to last into at least early fall. Forecasters are predicting an active hurricane season and above average temperatures nearly everywhere in the U.S. aside from the Pacific Northwest and parts of the Northern Tier. Here's more from @CNN.

In its own separate report, EDC claims a 69 per cent reduction in carbon exposure, suggesting it exceeded its climate target ahead of schedule — but that target only applies to direct financing. For oil and gas, 88 per cent of EDC’s support is indirect, in the form of insurance and bonding, highlighting one of the ways the government muddies the waters about the extent to which it’s subsidizing fossil fuels

Canada's National Observer · Government financing impacts climate risks — and they need to be honest about it The federal government's first-ever risk management report is silent on the government’s role in making climate disasters worse.

"Folks told us #Covid just wasn't the time to talk #ClimateChange & to be sure a lot of climate organizations & the most progress we'd ever seen just died on the vine during that time. Last year it was #Housing & #Inequality. This year it's an openly covetous, belligerent & reckless America."
