#Zoomposium with Prof. Dr. #Dieter #Birnbacher "The human image of #neuroscience"
In our Zoomposium interview series on the topic of "consciousness", this time we were able to win over the German philosopher with a focus on ethics Professor Dr. Dieter Birnbacher, born in Dortmund in 1946.
However, the focus of the interview will not only be on ethical questions concerning the current findings of cognitive neuroscience, but we will also go into the possibilities of a "modern neurophilosophy" or an "inductive metaphysics" in the sense of Schopenhauer.
Here, of course, once again the supposed "body-mind problem" with its "dependence of consciousness on brain processes" will be addressed.
The outlook will be the question about the possibility of "conscious machines" and their ethical consequences. The problem of AI in the form of the "decoupling" of consciousness and intelligence will be explicitly addressed.
