Last night we were treated to the Waxing Crescent Moon cozying up to the Pleiades star cluster just after sunset.

A low cloud was kind enough to pass in front of the moon when I took this photo, dimming its glow and revealing the line of craters while the unobscured stars were still shining brightly.

It’s officially spring! Today’s March equinox marks the end of winter for us in the Northern Hemisphere (and the beginning of fall for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere). Today the Sun will pass directly above the Equator, and we will experience almost equal amounts of day and night. You know what this means! Warm weather, birds chirping, flowers blooming.
