Two years ago, Wisconsin liberals flipped the state Supreme Court, leading to expanded voter access. On April 1, control of the court is on the line again with the retirement of a longtime liberal justice, Ann Walsh Bradley. @bolts looks at the contest between local judge Susan Crawford, who as an attorney, helped lead the challenge to the state’s voter ID law, and Brad Schimel, the former Republican attorney general of Wisconsin.

@PDAmerica and anyone else, there's an effort to have pro-Palestinian statement put into our state Democratic platform.

Our state party is open to considering putting this in their platform but can't find language that isn't "over complicated". Submissions have been rejected because of that.

What statements have other states been successful with using? I appreciate anyone offering their Democratic party's statement. #palestine, #democrat, #progressive, #democraticparty #statepolitics

53) The #GOP state party has a lot of variables to consider should they opt to use #impeachment in attempting to remove Justice Protasiewic. There is no guiding ethical precedent for such an action

Excellent exchange between Ben Wikler, the #Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair and Josh Marshall of @tpm_rss_bot at the video 🔽 .

The #GOP seems to have found itself under increasing national scrutiny as this drama plays out. More to come!

The final result of Ohio Issue 1 continues the trend of urban areas leaning more progressive and rural areas leaning more conservative. Looking at the map I can easily imagine conservative provocateurs and grifters saying "Only a few counties voted No! There must be massive fraud in these big cities!", while knowing they are lying to their audience. MAGA supporters will nod and fume right along with them because they will agree with anything that fits what they want to hear.

A reminder to all: Land doesn't vote — people do.

I'm proud of Ohio for the first time in a long time.

If you know anyone in Ohio, make sure they know that the special election for Issue 1 is today from 6:30am until 7:30pm, and urge them to vote No. If it passes, it will raise the threshold for passing ballot issues from 50% to 60%, allowing a 40% minority to veto ballot issues.

The GOP spent a ton of donor and taxpayer money to set up a special election, just for this one issue, hoping it will pass with low turnout, because it would remove one of the few remaining checks on a heavily gerrymandered statehouse.

Georgia State Representative Mesha Mainor of Atlanta switched parties from Democratic to Republican after being criticized for voting with the GOP on several occasions. She'll be joining a majority GOP House, but resides in a heavily Democratic district, making her reelection prospects poor.
