Trees & Flowers was re-recorded for a BBC John Peel session in October 1982 & it was that track which led Bill Drummond & David Balfe to become Strawberry Switchblade's managers & producers, releasing a further new version as the debut single in July 1983.

I was going to listen to The KLF's classic ambient album Chill Out, but then decided to listen to the 2021 alternate version, Come Down Dawn. It's mostly the same, particularly the first half, just different track names. At a push I probably still prefer Chill Out, though that's likely to be a familiarity thing.

New on the fansite: interview with John Cook, bassist with Strawberry Switchblade 1983-4.

He talks not only about his time on the road and in the studio with the band, but also about his earlier career with Jimmy Cauty who went on to be half of the KLF, and his subsequent academic work including a new paper on his final gig with Strawberry Switchblade.
