Flipboard News Desk

A bankruptcy judge has rejected The Onion's bid to buy Alex Jones' Infowars site, ruling that the auction process was unfair. "I don't think it's enough money," Judge Christopher Lopez said after a two-day hearing. "I'm not going to approve the sale." It was not immediately clear whether there will be a new auction in which The Onion can participate. Here's more from @NBCNews.

NBC News · Bankruptcy judge rejects The Onion’s bid to buy Alex Jones’ InfowarsBy David Ingram

@NewsDesk @NBCNews Not enough money? Seriously? what kind of complicity is going on here? Sounds like good ol’ boys network.

@odaraia @NewsDesk @NBCNews They’ve got the judge.

But more importantly, they’re telling us we’re powerless.

They know we know they are lying, and they’re doing it anyway.

That’s a powerful message.

@NewsDesk @NBCNews A judge gets to adjudicate on the result of an open auction? That’s messing with capitalism on a grand scale.

@NewsDesk @NBCNews

You know what else is unfair?

Capitalism, life, gun laws, elections, judicial confirmations, my sixth grade Geography bee...

Do we get to redo all of them, too?

@NBCNews @NewsDesk This was a terrible decision by the judge. The families were satisfied, The Onion had a great idea for satirizing misinformation, and Jones would have had to stop broadcasting via Infowars. Now Jones can continue his propaganda indefinitely.
