The #Italian defence company #Leonardo has been given a £165m contract extension by the #British government for its work maintaining the #RoyalNavy’s fleet of 54 #MerlinHelicopters, in a sign of the impact of the #UK’s commitment to ramp up #defence spending.
#KeirStarmer’s government, which is planning to increase #military spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027, said the deal with Leonardo would help to bolster #NationalSecurity.

They add more detail to her #WW1 operations in British waters, as can be seen in the second image.
The positions have been calculated from bearings to landmarks mentioned in the log-books.

All Achilles recorded in her log-book: '4.33pm: Sank Raider.'

I should add that #herbertasquith and #davidlloydgeorge - the two successive #liberal chancellors between 1906 and 1914 managed to fund both the modernisation of the #royalnavy and the institution of #nationalinsurance . They faced a constitutional crisis in 1910 as a result but still persisted - and succeeded.
